Move over....

Well, I know its a shocker, and try as I may, I am still not completely unpacked.

There are no more nooks to cram my junk into.

No more crannies for my crap. I'm nearing giving up. Putting the rest into my storage and fetching it as i go along. Kinda sounds like a grand idea if you ask me. Everyone else thinks its lame. Which makes me like the idea more and more.

At least today it is sunny and gorgeous. You never know here in the D. It could be cold, could be hot, could snow all day. No one ever knows.

The weathermen just lie and lie.

I've decided that there are three things I will never do while living in Colorado. I will never wear Birkenstocks, I will never wear crocks, and I will never, ever believe a word the weatherman says. (stay tuned because this list WILL grow, i guarantee it).

Today its sunny, no clouds, and slightly breezy. Basically a gorgeous spring day. However, there is a giant mound of snow directly across the street from the day before yesterday.

So, God bless a spring day, God bless storage facilities, and God bless good ole flippy floppies.

Rocky Mountain High

Here I am.

Living in Colorado. Weird. Never thought I would actually leave California. But, so far, I love it. The people are really mellow, the traffic is totally calmer and the skies are endless.

So, Friday night, Andy, his girlfriend Hillary and I flew out. They are staying for spring break. Actually, Hillary goes home tonight to Concord, CA. But Andy will stay the week with us.

Tomorrow morning we should have a bunch of snow..... http://cbs4denver.com/local/weather.denver.colorado.2.742188.html

We shall see how I do with THAT kind of change.

We picked up a rental car today, so that should make exploring a little easier. Although I have never driven in the snow before. :)

We have done some really fun stuff, like watch the little kids play soccer, and take the light rail downtown and explore. Here is Jordan on the Train. Its a cool way to get around Denver. Very clean and very inexpensive.

Time to unpack the warm stuff....

Soooo...The cat moved out....

The cat went to live with my good friends Joe and Judy. They were very excited about adopting her. Judy is the type of doting pet owner who brushes her pets everyday, and talks to them.

She is NOT like me, at all. She would never slide the cat across the kitchen floor with her toes to get to the coffee maker in the morning.

Puppy the cat will be happy in her new home, with her new brother, Magic. Too bad they can't have babies. They would be Magic Puppies. Damn that woulda been good.

I think the cat was more excited to start her new life than me.

I can't be sure, but i think she gave me the evil eye as they walked out the door.

Bye Bye Puppy.

All my bags are packed....

The boxes are stacked nearly to the ceiling. I am finally nearing the finish line of the great moving/packing/close of escrow race.

I was near death with exhaustion when Jodie showed up to help/save me.

It turned out to be absolutely hilarious and fun. Which it always is with Jodie.

Later that night we had a picnic in the living room and we watched two fabulous movies. Definitely MUST SEE movies. The first was the HBO movie with Kevin Bacon, called "Taking Chance" and the other was the Tom Hanks film, "Charlie Wilson's War". Both were great.

Here we are with our Sushi picnic. Complete with awesome Miso, and Poki bowls. YUM!

We even drank beer straight out of the bottle. Now that's livin'!

Thank you Jodie, for coming to my rescue. I haven't posted the pictures of you yet. Just because you threatened me with pain doesn't mean I wont. :)

The movers will be here Thursday.

God save the Queen.

The age of Aquarium...

I have fish...they like me less then that cat. If moving day arrives, and they havent packed up their little fishy selves. Then, they are gonna get cozy with the Kohler.
I can't haul it to the D with me. Any takers?

Its actually a nice 10 gallon tank aquarium with 4 nice fishes, a heater, fitler, rocks, etc. Best of all its free.

oh...and...I have a cat..well, its not MY cat. Its someone elses cat. But I have been house sitting it for 3 years. I can't take it with me. Its a nice cat, sure. She is a rag-doll which i hear is a nice breed. But, the fact is...she just doesnt like me.

Maybe I'm too loud? Maybe she misses her owner. Maybe she is pissed cause my kids named her puppy?
Or maybe......

She doesn't like this dress?
Sheesh, picky....picky....
The bottom line is..she would be fantastic for an older person who needs a companion. I am confidant that if i take her to a cat rescue she will be adopted up right away. She is fixed, front declawed and around 5 yrs old.
I wonder if she would fit in the Kohler?

Miss Jordan goes to school

Well....

Jordan is no longer a Warrior. She is now…a SPARTAN! ..Yes Bob…you heard me…..Your niece is….a Spartan

http://www.tjjournal.com/

Maybe you can talk her into being a Michigan Spartan too? :)

Chris took her yesterday and signed her up for her classes, and got her all registered complete with her one wish...getting into the drama department. Everything went great, even though she never did find her locker.

So, she gets up this morning, ready to face a new world, all gung-ho and excited. First the power went out. So, she could not blow-dry and straighten her hair. OHMYGOD.... Do you know my daughter and the necessity of her hair? Yeah, it was a straight up catastrophe. I directed her via phone to the location of flashlight, and she did her makeup by flashlight. The hair, however, was a total loss.

But, she is Jordan, she will carry-on. That's how she is. Thank god. Not me. I would have gone back to bed. Screw that. No hair? No work. Nope.

and.....She continues on, no problem...right? ....

oh...and today it snowed, so she walked to the bus stop in the snow.

It’s a short two block walk to the bus stop from the house. Then, it’s a quick jaunt on RTD.

Of course, that is IF you get on the correct bus. Which she did not. Apparently there are two #65 buses. So, she took the wrong one. The first one. But the driver took pity on her and helped her out. She had to start over. I will say I think it is pretty awesome that at least bus wrong driver #65 came back to check on her. She was very unnerved. She had to wait 40 minutes for the next one. She was very late to school. I am still flabbergasted at the fact there are two #65 buses.

I guess RTD ran out of numbers.

Can you imagine? She has never even taken public transportation before. Poor baby.

So, I called the school and explained the situation. They assured me they would further her public transportation education. Apparently there are no other options except a taxi. Sigh.

She needs a new friend....with a car.....
